Friday Five: Hair Recovery
Happy Friday Sunday! I know, I know – it’s not Friday! Long story short, I got a little caught up and forgot to post this, so here I am, on Sunday, catching up! I hope everyone is doing well at home in what seems like day 7385745 of self-isolation!
Being at home, I’ve started to focus on some self-care things that I’ve never really paid enough attention to before. My hair is my least favourite thing about my physical appearance. It’s thin, fine, flat and dull. LOL! Tell you how I really feel, right? Because my hair is so thin, product doesn’t do much for my hair because it always makes it look greasy, even if I just washed it. Or even worse, it weighs it down, losing all hope of any volume.
This winter I’ve been experiencing a seriously dry scalp and scraggly ends. I finally bit the bullet and started to do something about it! Just for the record, I haven’t been using all of these products for a long time – just over a month for most of them, so I’ll share my opinions up to this point!
Also, all of these products are part of the Sephora sale happening right now — you can save up to 20% depending on your tier level. As always, links are below in both Canadian and USA depending where you’re located!
HAIR RECOVERY

1. BRIOGEO B. WELL ORGANIC + COLD PRESSED 100% CASTOR OIL
PSA: If you have thin, fine hair, this WILL make your hair greasy looking. Even if you only use a bit. This product has been working really well for my scalp but I only use it when I wash my hair and don’t plan on styling it. It’s like my Sunday hair treatment. Then, I will rewash my hair the next day. I cannot use these oils and then style my hair without it looking greasy. That’s JUST my hair! It may work totally different for you but for all of my thin, fine haired girls out there, just a little warning!
2. BRIOGEO SCALP REVIVAL CHARCOAL + TEA TREE SCALP TREATMENT
What I said above applies to this product as well! This one has helped with the dry patches of my scalp, specifically the front centre of my head! If I use this as night, I notice a huge difference in how my scalp feels the next morning. The dry, irritating itch is gone!
3. BRIOGEO SCALP REVIVAL STIMULATING THERAPY MASSAGER
This thing feels so freakin’ good on my head! It helps massage the oils around, plus I do it for a little extra time because it feels good lol!
4. OUAI LEAVE IN CONDITIONER
This spray makes my hair so smooth. I use it sparingly and comb it through with my wet brush. I mainly use this conditioner when I let my hair dry naturally if I’m not going anywhere. I received this in a FabFitFun box over a year ago and I’m thoroughly happy with it!
5. MOROCCONOIL PROTECT AND PREVENT SPRAY
I just received this product in a BoxyCharm box and I love it so far! Morocconoil’s products smell soo good and the quality is always there. Because my hair is so fine, I definitely need a heat protectant spray before using my styling tools.

So, these are the products I’ve been using and loving! I have to be verrrrry careful about product due to the nature of my hair. If you’ve got hair like mine and have any product recommendations, please share!
